About Carini
Carini is Mary Angela's Hometown. Carini is located in Sicily, the southern most part of Italy. Ten miles west of Palermo, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. As you approah the town, nestled in the rocky hillside, you see the Castle of Carini soar majestically from the edge of a high seaside cliff. Now a museum, it is a symbol of peace and prosperity, of battles won and lost, of passionate love affairs and of the rich culture that surrounds the town of Carini.
Carini was originally established around 1200 B.C. as the first Hyccara. once considered a military sea power, Hyccara governed the seas and protected the region from sea pirates until it's destruction in 415 B.C.
Today, Carini is a popular summer destination, known for its beaches. It's population swells in the summer with vacationers seeking a quiet escape from the streets of Palermo. The five paintings displayed in the restaurant depict the rich history and tradition in and around Carini.
